Folks, in case you haven’t heard, washi tape is the best.

Today we’re bringing you a handy little DIY from Courtney Cerruti, the genius behind Washi Tape: 101+ Ideas for Paper Crafts, Book Arts, Fashion, Decorating, Entertaining, and Party Fun!. It’s almost hard to believe but together, yes, we were able to come up with yet another awesome way to use washi tape:

Office decor.

If your desk is a bland, boring space that typically holds your computer, coffee, and half-eaten breakfast bagel, it’s to time to upgrade. A pop of washi tape adds color, personality, and is shockingly easy to remove (as in, no sticky residue. I know, right?).

Materials

  • Washi tape
  • Desk
  • Office supplies (pencil cup, notebook, pencil, computer)

Step 1: Pick Your Color Palette

Neons are in, but washi tape comes in every color and pattern under the sun. Woodgrain, plaid, polka dot, tiny instrument-playing animals: these all exist in the magical world of washi tape, so let your tape-freak flag fly.*
