5 Ways to feed your Creativity

It’s important to be curious and stay hungry for more inspiration. This process of adventure helps us all stay creative. There are a million ways in which you can feed your creativity. Here are our favorite five ways that we, at Creativebug, like to spark our creativity:

1. Take a walk.

Take the time to notice the world around you. Notice the small things, the patterns and shapes in the trees, the architecture. Let your mind take it all in to help you foster a new perspective.

2. Challenge yourself.

Sometimes the best thing we can do is push ourselves outside of our comfort zone. Challenge yourself to try a new medium, something that isn’t quite your “thing” or “style.” Notice how this might challenge your usual creative process.

3. Try something new.

Next time you walk into an art or craft store, buy something you have never used before and know nothing about. Take your time exploring this new material. What do you like about it? What do you not like about it? How can you add it to your practice?

4. Break routine.

Take yourself on a wild ride and do the opposite of what you typically lean toward. Maybe you are a really neat person, so get messy and see what happens. Maybe you like being messy, so see how you can challenge yourself to be super precise? Or maybe simply try drawing with your non-dominant hand. Find beauty and inspiration in what you can’t control.

5. Surround yourself with art.

Oftentimes inspiration comes from looking at art made by others. Walking through a museum or gallery can help you take a break from the pleasure of creating and give you time to be inspired by other processes and mediums.
