There is something so calming, so seductive and so simple about a needle and thread. There are an endless amount of projects you can create with these basic tools. I recently started a Pinterest board called Stitch It! that’s been a catch-all for images I find showcasing fibers, stitches, embroidery and other handwork. The variety is astounding! From an iPhone case you can cross stitch yourself, to wall hangings, rugs, and even jewelry, it’s no wonder that over time we have come back again and again to sewing and stitching as a form of art (both functional and decorative) and as a way to pass on story and tradition to future generations.
