I have always loved arranging things by color. Whether is was my markers at age 2 or organizing my paints, threads or buttons at age 30; putting things in “rainbow order,” as I put it, has been a way to calm and entrance me. I’ve pinned images illustrating this effect and even done blog posts. I always thought “rainbow order” didn’t really acutely describe what this feeling, this image meant. Then two weeks ago I found it that the order of the rainbow is also call ROY G BIV…. what???? How did I not know this??? Did I attend kindergarten? yes. Did I learn about colors? yes. But its always seemed like the obvious order, why is there an acronym? More importantly, why when Kelly said ROY G BIV did I have absolutely no clue what she was referring to? Clearly I’ve been under a rock, even if a very beautiful one…
