We’re so inspired by the many artists and makers we follow on instagram, which is why we’re starting a new feature on our blog… Instagramers We Love!
Our first artist is Charlotte Hamilton aka Blueshineart. Charlotte is a painter, a maker and a mom. She makes amazing art with kids, teaching them sophisticated painting and observational techniques she employs in her own work.
Here’s what Charlotte had to say about her upbringing, inspiration and how art plays a role in her daily life:
Born in England into a Scandinavian household with many crafting traditions, Charlotte followed her dream of being an artist and studied fine Arts in London and then moved to the Island of Mallorca to further her fine art training in a very traditional Spanish Art School.
After 7 years on the Island her heart lead her to Canada where she continued to paint murals and custom art for clients. Charlotte teaches Summer Camp to kids and runs morning classes for drawing and painting at the weekend. Art has been a passion of hers since she was 9 years old and she loves painting portraits and animals.
If Charlotte could do anything else she would be a chef. She loves making food pretty and is a true foodie… (Check out her daily breakfast posts on instagram… she deffintely plays with her food!)
Charlotte’s everyday inspiration comes from her husband and two girls as well as from the interactions and community she finds on instagram.
