Hey there! I’m Tyffany, graphic designer at Creativebug and an avid maker. I’m thrilled to share a few projects I have in the works this fall.

Though the sun still warms our Northern California days, the whispers of autumn are drawing near. As I embrace this transition, my creative spirit is set on completing the projects that have lingered in the wings, awaiting their moment.

Fall & Holiday Quilting

At the heart of my focus are two cherished quilts, lovingly begun during the spring at the Gee’s Bend quilt retreat I attended with my mother. Each stitch carries memories of laughter and inspiration. I’m eager to bring these works to completion as the vibrant colors of fall begin to grace our surroundings.

Next on my crafting agenda is a cozy vest to embrace the crispness of the season. It must have generous pockets, perfect for early morning walks with my dog, Sharky, before the chill sets in and winter coats take their place.

Last fall, I created two quilted jackets in Natalie Ebaugh’s class, pieces that I adore. For my vest, I might draw inspiration from that pattern once more. Or, venture into something entirely new, but I am thinking cozy fleece this time.

Last year, I made a ton of stockings for friends and family as a holiday craft, taking inspiration from Sew a Stash-Busting Stocking with Blair Stocker. I opted for a simple improv square pattern. This class offers so many possibilities!

A Tradition of Cinnamon Rolls

Speaking of the holidays, one of the traditions in my house is cinnamon rolls. I will end up making a batch or two before the year is out. My recipe of choice is from Alison Roman – it’s my tried and true. While it’s certainly not an easy or simple recipe, it’s totally worth it!

Books, TV Shows, and Music for Cozy Fall Evenings

Here’s what is on my mind these days:

Reading: I have finally finished the fantastic Ruth Galloway Series by Elly Griffiths. These fifteen books, following the life of forensic archaeologist Dr. Ruth Galloway, were an absolute joy to read. I’d love to hear your recommendations for international cozy mystery series. I’m always on the lookout for new literary adventures in this very specific, but perfect genre!

Watching: My colleague Courtney also got me started on the fabulous Apple TV+ show Slow Horses. I’m also eagerly anticipating the second season of Bad Sisters on the same platform.

Listening: Some of my recent favorite records include Midnight Blue by Kenny Burrell and NEW YORK – ADDIS – LONDON: The Story of Ethio Jazz 1965-1976. These albums create the perfect backdrop for cozy fall evenings spent with a candle and a mystery novel!

Thanks for reading!
