Our founders Jeanne and Julie both hail from New Orleans, where lagniappe is a way of life — it means a little something extra to sweeten your day, whether that’s at the vegetable market or the beignet counter. Apparently, the word has a circuitous origin. It entered the English vocabulary by way of the Louisiana French, who put their spin on a word brought to New Orleans from the Spanish creoles, who took the word from South America (don’t worry, there won’t be a pop quiz on this one).
Starting this month, we’re bringing that spirit of generosity to Creativebug for our subscribers. Every month, one of our wildly talented instructors will create a little something special for you.
