Jenny Doh’s Yellow Couch Questions + Hemp Yarn Give-Away

crochet bow

We recently sat down with Jenny Doh to ask her a few questions about what makes her tick and we’re so glad we did because A) We love Jenny,  B) She told us all about her beautiful new line of hemp yarns called Crochet Hemp and C) She offered to give away a spool of said yarn to one lucky Creativebug blog reader! Details on how to win below…

First, here’s our chat with the lovely Jenny Doh.

What talent would you like to possess?
I’d love to be able to harmonize to a song by ear. My daughter has this talent. I actually call it her super power. It’s so beautiful to be able to sing along to a song and harmonize to it rather than just belting out the melody, which anyone … well almost anyone can do. I can’t harmonize unless I’m reading the music, which is a bummer because who has sheet music in the shower or in the car?

When it’s raining, what’s the perfect day you imagine for yourself?
The perfect rainy day for me would involve lots and lots of yarns and threads and a clear mind that allows me to play with the fibers without feeling guilty. I’d crochet, knit, macrame, tat, braid, and embroider without end.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve had?
My parents were owners of Der Wienerschnitzel restaurants when I was growing up. That was their livelihood. So um yeah, I worked all throughout junior high and high school for my folks. Let me just say, I know how to wrap a mean hot dog in no time flat.

What’s your favorite crafting tool?
So the obvious answer is a crochet hook, right? Of course. So aside from the obvious, my favorite crafting tool is a small paintbrush and sumi ink. I love adding handlettering with sumi ink to all of my papercrafting. Oh and I also love my sewing machine with darning foot. Once I put the foot on and lower the machine’s feed dogs, I love to free motion stitch. It’s like a secret weapon that get people going “OMG, you’re writing words with a machine!”

Have a favorite Blog or Blogger?  (Genius) (I get lost in her art journals) (She knits and inspires genuine laughter through her keen observations.) (She gets it all done.) (Adorable. Authentic. Real.) (One of the most talented, hardest working people within mixed-media that I know)

Favorite craft store in the whole wide world.
Home Depot
