5 Things We Want to Make Before Summer Falls-

We are, of course, a perpetually crafty bunch, but there’s something about longer days that just makes us want to pack in more.  More sun, more al fresco dining, more time with family and friends, but for us especially – more making! Find out what the Creativebug staff has got in their end-of-summer crafting queues.

Stamped and Sewn Backpack by bookhou

There’s a leather shop right around the corner that we’ll be dragging our super-chic Project Manager Ayrika to post haste so that she can get started on a similarly stylish accessory – the Stamped and Sewn Backpack from Arounna Khounnoraj of bookhou. Let the stamping (and sewing, and carving, and leather-ing) commence!

Tunic No. 1 by Sonya Philip

The summer heat is giving Editor-in-Chief Liana a particular hankering for Sonya Philip’s breezy, flowy style. When asked what she’s most excited about to make she replied “I need to make all of Sonya’s clothes! Specifically (and in order): Dress No. 2 without sleeves / Dress No. 2 with sleeves / Tunic No. 1 with sleeves / Tunic No. 1 jacket / (Maybe pants).” Somebody get this lady to a fabric store, stat!

Treasure Hunt Your Artistic Style with Lilla Rogers

Though an established artist with a sleeve full of tricks, Creative Head Honcho Courtney says “I can’t wait to take the Professional Practices classes with Lisa Solomon and Lilla Rogers. It’s never too late to polish one’s skills and look at your work and website with fresh eyes and through a pro lens.”

Innovative Book Structures with Faith Hale

Editor, camera-person, and freshly-fanatic motorcycle enthusiast Taryn has a paper vibe going on and aim’s to complete fellow-staffer Faith Hale’s Innovative Book Structures class. As a collector of ephemera and sentimental souvenirs she says “I need a place to put all if it!” She’s absolutely right – a storage book is surely in order.

Pants No. 1 by Sonya Philip

Though new to sewing, camera-person and editor Sam is ready for the surprisingly-simple Pants No. 1 from Sonya Philip. We’re thinking a crisp chocolate linen to go with his love of neutral turtlenecks (though a colorful personality himself, he claims his favorite color is beige!).

Your turn! What are you working on these days?
