There’s nothing like starting off the new year with a big creative challenge, and boy do we have one for you: Every single day for the month of January, we challenge you to draw along with Lisa Congdon. Lisa has hand-picked 31 objects to draw, and demonstrates several ways to render each object using just your imagination. This creative exercise is designed to help you embrace wonkiness and imperfections, all while learning to see everything around you—be it bird or bikini—as artistic fodder. In celebration of the new year and our newest daily drawing challenge, we are launching another #CBDrawADay challenge.

Heres how to participate:
- Take parts 1-31 of ’Daily Drawing Challenge: 31 Things to Draw’ series *Must participate each day*
- Post your drawings to Instagram using the hashtags #creativebug and #CBDrawADay (You can also post your images to the class page in the member gallery – https://www.creativebug.com/classseries/single/daily-drawing-challenge – if you do not have an Instagram or a smartphone).
4 lucky winners will receive the following (pictured above):
- 6 months of unlimited access to Creativebug
- Strathmore Drawing pad

Hi Swan and Liz, I recommend watching the video each day for the lesson before submitting your picture. The list of things to draw is in the post above — but the lessons will occur each day (and won’t be released ahead of time).

I’ve only come across the drawing challenge now, can I still join? Would I need to do the previous drawings?

I am a late joiner and understand that I have to draw all the drawings aka catch up BUT the “how to participate” says must participate each day. So since im late and haven’t drawn the first 10 days am I not eligible to win even if I draw all of them and draw from today on?

All you have to do is watch the days you missed, draw those challenges, and then post your drawings on Instagram.
Not going to lie, unfair on winners. They’re all people with 100+ followers who showed up on top posts. I don’t mean to sound like a sore loser but all 4 of those people are popular, which left the new people to Instagram or just people lacking followers at a handicap…

We actually picked two people from posts on the #CBDrawADay hashtag and two people from the image gallery on the site. We then found all of their Instagram accounts so that we can announce them on IG and give them all credit. As for how the Instagram winners were picked, it was honestly very random. We didn’t pick from the Top Posts section. We will however take all the things that you have mentioned into consideration when picking from the February challenge. I started a bit late with this challange so I’ve barely started, and forgot to save the list with what to draw on my phone. Is it possible to get the list somehow? Just for my own practice, since the challenge is over 🙂
